Here’s a video I did for the current art show at GRNY:
This is a short video I did for GRNY and I was supposed to interview the artists but it was my first time so I wasn’t very good at it. Snaggs and Le Merde both were in attendance and they were absolutely awesome! The works are up through July 16, 2008 at GRNY so I highly recommend that you go IMMEDIATELY. Here are the photos.
This is a boring video I took at the laundromat about a year ago. I was testing out my digital camera.
I love this country. When I was working overseas, my laundry would often come out slightly yellow. If it wasn’t washed by machine, it was washed by hand. That’s the wonderful thing about this country, you can have expectations. If my laundry comes out yellow here, I have a fit, I either get my money back or I can complain to someone (better business bureau?) or eventually the place would shut down cause I would have alternatives (economics). The water is clean and there’s enough space for everyone.
Compared to other cities, most of New York is cleaner and less crowded -despite what most New Yorkers actually believe. You can be whoever you want to be, sane or insane. I love it.
Hello Suzette.

This was an interesting opening. Add this to the list of big openings this summer except in this case Deitch Gallery is big enough to house everybody (inside). Everyone was there to see Gustavo and Otavio Pandolfo’s work. I sense a little Barry McGee with that whole 3rd-world-dirty-urban look but apparently they’re friends. It seems like that’s the case in the art world. If you’ve got a similar style w/ another guy, you’re immediately friends. This is unlike the world of online gaming where “one man murdered a friend in a dispute over a stolen virtual sword.“

I actually went to see ‘Constraction‘ that was happening simultaneously. It was very abstract optical-illusion. I used to groan to the abstract but lately I’ve been inviting it. It’s great. Go see it. Or don’t, do whatever you want.

Alright, I thought this video was amusing. Let me see here, it’s a video of the art show at Giant Robot New York. APAK flew from Oregon to be at the show and oh boy it was wonderful. You get a nice 360 view of the gallery, some detailed up-close shots of some of the pieces, a few words from Aaron Piland (half of APAK), some footage of Ayumi (the other half of APAK), a glimpse of the Dance Parade that was going on near the gallery at Tompkins Square Park, Cheryl typing, Christina and about a minute and a half of my subway ride home at around 4 AM without any lights. This video would be amusing if watched under the influence (i.e. alcohol, drugs, etc.).

Jason Osborne is an interesting guy. He works in people’s houses doing carpentry or construction stuff? and he’s been doing it for the last 10 years.

This type of stuff is called photorealism. I think it’s just taking a photograph and then redoing it on canvas inch by inch. I’ve done that crap before, I think. Chuck Close is famous because of it. I like it. The use of the Tussin bottle is pretty interesting. Is that real? I thought it was Robitussin. Tussin is the generic Robitussin I guess. Take a look at the pictures below.

It was last week, I went to this art show in Williamsburg. Funny thing, I’ve never been to that area before even though I’ve lived in New York City for most of my life, even though it’s the part of Brooklyn that’s been gentrified with a bunch of “artists.”

What the fuck is this!? Sometimes I give a shit and sometimes I don’t. I just got outta work so maybe I just don’t give a shit right now.
Is this the next step in art?
Okay, let’s do a quick timeline, and I don’t think this is at all accurate so don’t fuckin’ bother me about it, BUT! Art used to be all beautiful paintings of scenery and rich people, and then (I’m skipping a lot of shit here) it expanded into different mediums like tv, design, sound, interpretative, abstract, and then there was anti-art (actually anti-art as art happened ALL the fuckin’ time and the assholes who thought anti-culture/anti-art - dada? - thought themselves to be so unique and creative were/are just a bunch of dickwads). Now, just label EVERYTHING as art - just give me money.

I’m not going to praise this but I won’t bad-mouth it a lot either. It’s a small “store,” at the above-shown location that has all this expensive shit inside that you either can buy or can’t buy. I don’t fucking know. You should read the article and tell me because I am not that interested. I was interested enough to go see the goddamned thing but I don’t want to know more about it. My personal opinion is that it’s for either dumb rich people or just dumb people.
